Using shampoo's and conditioners The Right way

  • Recently a client asked me "How to use the Organic Shampoos and conditioners ?" exactly and I realized that we as hairdressers take it for granted that you KNOW how to use the products that you buy whether organic or no. Usually a good product will have the method of use, the instructions written on the bottle itself or at least as a guideline.
As a hairdresser and educator in the industry for over 25 years now I will tell you that we as educators always get educated first and foremost on the products we use first and foremost before we ever use them, all of companies vary and the result is based upon the education of correct knowledge and use. Do the same "if you don't know, don't assume" ASK. ?

HOWEVER this is what we recommend for you and to follow as a method for using products here so that they do not cause more damage to you. As you might guess incorrect use can create a whole host of other problems for you.

Our products are in fact all certified organic and have a great harmonic and life force or bio-energetic energy you can find out more about that from our website.
Here are the guidelines and methods we use as professionals for our product use.

For shampoo massage into the scalp and middle of hair emulsify with water to shake down the hair Organics are extremely light or concentrated too much product use just creates more waste and higher product sales ( think about it ) be ECO friendly only use what you need.

With organics you should rinse more than normal as they are highly concentrated and have done their job with use. NO extra products is required with Organics less is best
So use small amounts and emulsify with water shampoo twice (always) and rinse alot more than usual, we find that people simply don't rinse enough as we have a subconscious perception that if we leave a bit in it helps or we feel it is clean when actually as hairdressers absolutely no cleansing products should be left in the hair, none, you wouldn't leave soap or bodywash on your skin would you so rinse out more than you would normally about twice as long as you think you should. We do !!

For our conditioner or most conditioners, we suggest at least one inch away from the scalp
Always use your conditioner never skip this step it actually does protect the hair and closes the cuticle and protects the hair shaft from the environment and damage getting into the hair and breaking it down.

Never leave conditioner on, it will do it's job then rinse it off. Leaving it on can create a build up a white or grey scaly chalk like layer on your hair and causes more damage and dullness and flatness, if it is on your hair it is also on your scalp is it not !!
Guess what itchy flaky or scalp problems ensue.
We know we see quite alot of these types of issues in the salon and more hair care and scalp problems come from BUILD UP on hair especially if they are chemical or synthetic, silicone based products.
If you need extra conditioning use a good re-treatment and use it regularly,we would suggest a protein based one, or use a small amount of a smoothing product or a serum, we can assist you and help you define your needs.
  • A conditioner is a conditioner, let it be so .........
It's important to define what you need and use less ( though of course trying out lots of products can be fun we know that ..............!!
For the rebuilding and repair treatments always squeeze dry most of the moisture first from your hair, very gently though, after your shampooing then, take a small amount about a dollar size in the palm of your hand and blend over and in your hand evenly, apply to the hair from at least 1 inch off of the scalp area ( not into or onto scalp ) and pull through with hands evenly, middle of hair and ends most and the cover with cap if possible for 10 to 15 Min's - (perhaps cover cap with towel for additional heat to infuse into the hair more)

• other options is to leave in 3 to 5 Min's for a quick treatment and rinse out thoroughly it still works repetition and constant use is the key not always time those good habits that work for us
And please be kind to your hair, never ever leave product in the hair, it only builds up and causes problems later on !

Hope that this How to helps you

Spring is here time for a change, perhaps of colour or style

We choose and prefer to be “Organic” and 3rd party certified organic wherever possible for the control and absolute safety factor of knowing what it is we use that is might be absorbed into your system and body through the hair follicle and cells (on a repetitive basis) it is chemicals and synthetics that will cause toxicity to you and your body as a system, itch and burn the scalp ( obviously not good but what was the alternative before !) and chemical colour will create hair shaft breakdown when used repeatedly.
Organic to us is a lifestyle and caring for your environment YOU so if
you decide what goes into your body you will create it's future health
Chemicals and cacogenics are in colours, perms, shampoo's, conditioners and styling products, they are not safe to use on our bodies.
It’s what we leave out that counts, so we leave out the harsh and damaging chemicals it is closer to nature and our natural hair structure is not so affected. It lasts longer and dosen't fade out either. The repeat colour process is lessened because it just lasts longer and the tones and vibrancy does not lessen. It colours grey hair fantastically it is rich, vibrant and really shiny, and it lasts longer than any other colour we have used. How great is that. It also lightens hair as it is a professional designers colour created in the U.K.
It was created to be in an alignment to our hair naturally and therefore our body’s health as a whole. Not to break it down to to repair and maintian the hair stucture as healthy as it was. So maintanence is also less of a problem.
Organic Hair colouring is the safest method available at this point in time, for hair colouring that does not knowingly include any harsh toxins or harsh chemicals that might be absorbed or ingested into our bodies through our scalps and lungs with repeated use !
We also found a great IDEAS hairgallery for you to visulize the new you and new colour of you crowning glory. Enjoy
